It’s tested countless wires and batteries
It’s been left out in the rain
It’s been smacked around by a radiator fan
It’s even been witness to a fire and got covered in fire extinguisher dust
And it still works

I think I have a similar GB around too. That’s the good thing about cheap meters, if you don’t need a high degree of accuracy and only need to measure VDC, VAC and resistance it doesn’t take a real fancy meter and they can be dead simple. I learned electronics back in the Simpson analog days (great for looking for dead spots in a potentiometer and watching caps change resistance) and graduated to Fluke digitals but these days simple and cheap work just fine.

My old radio shack meter failed after ~15 years Saturday while I was attempting to fix some ghettorigged 3 way switches (my house’s wiring is a code disaster). Took 120 (been a while) and made some sweet sparks.
